The principle aims of the EU directive are:

1. To promote the improvement of the energy performance of buildings within the EU through cost effective measures.

2. To promote the convergence of building standards towards those of member states.

An Energy Performance certificate can only be issued by a qualified Domestic Energy Assessors (DEA) having undertaken a stringent training and examination process. All Domestic Energy assessors are thoroughly vetted through the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) before being accredited with the title of Domestic Energy Assessor and being given permission to trade.

Homecheck Energy currently has several members progressing through training and due to qualify well ahead of the June 1st 2007 deadline, they will be able to offer help, advice and support to HIPS providers, Estate Agents, Conveyance Solicitors, Panel Managers and private individuals from this date onwards.

Our Domestic Energy assessors will be covered by our own independent Professional Indemnity Insurance and thoroughly vetted through the CRB.

Instructions to carry out an Energy Performance Certificate can be made either by way of telephone or e mail, specific appointment dates and times can also be made with the homeowner through Homecheck Energy.

Once property assessment and inspection has been carried out an Energy Performance Certificate along with recommendations to improve the energy efficiency of the property will be delivered electronically to your nominated client account.
